Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Two Bottle Vases by Edmund de Waal was worth GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,423.46) to a buyer in September 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund de Waal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A short history of the shadow in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).

Die Arbeit Two Bottle Vases von Edmund de Waal war einem Käufer im September 2018 GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.423,46) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund de Waal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A short history of the shadow im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 137.741,48).
