Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work The Deer Run by Edmund Darch Lewis for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,479.82). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Edmund Darch Lewis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Newport Harbor, Twilight in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,176.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Deer Run von Edmund Darch Lewis für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.479,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Darch Lewis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Newport Harbor, Twilight im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.176,35).
