The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,435.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund Darch Lewis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Newport Harbor, Twilight in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,176.35).

Die Arbeit On the Hillside von Edmund Darch Lewis kam im September 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.435,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Darch Lewis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Newport Harbor, Twilight im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.176,35).
