This artwork by Edgar Fernhout achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Boorplatforms op zee sold for EUR 35,280.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Fernhout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zee (ochtend), which sold at auction in June 2017 for EUR 122,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edgar Fernhout erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Boorplatforms op zee für EUR 35.280,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Fernhout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Zee (ochtend) beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für EUR 122.500,00 versteigert wurde.
