Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ruimte by Edgar Fernhout was sold in the Made In Holland auction at Christies in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 43,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Fernhout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zee (ochtend), which sold at auction in June 2017 for EUR 122,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ruimte von Edgar Fernhout wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Made In Holland bei Christies versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 43.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Fernhout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Zee (ochtend) beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für EUR 122.500,00 versteigert wurde.
