Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Alligator, Blue Sky by Eddie Arning was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 222.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eddie Arning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tricia Got Her Rose Garden, It Was the Only Thing to Do After the Mule Died, and Untitled (Crow with Yellow Background), circa 1975-1970, three drawings in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,547.93).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tricia Got Her Rose Garden, It Was the Only Thing to Do After the Mule Died, and Untitled (Crow with Yellow Background), circa 1975-1970, three drawings im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.547,93).
