Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Niagra, Horseshoe Falls; and Niagra, Terrapin Rock by Duncan MacGregor Whyte was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 783.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Duncan MacGregor Whyte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beach at Perth in November 2019 with an auction result of AUD 12,200.00 (€ 11,071.79).

Die Arbeit Niagra, Horseshoe Falls; and Niagra, Terrapin Rock von Duncan MacGregor Whyte kam im Juli 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 783,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Duncan MacGregor Whyte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Beach at Perth im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 12.200,00 (€ 11.071,79).
