Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work Highland cattle on the beach, Tiree by Duncan MacGregor Whyte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,539.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Duncan MacGregor Whyte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Beach at Perth in November 2019 with an auction result of AUD 12,200.00 (€ 11,071.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Highland cattle on the beach, Tiree von Duncan MacGregor Whyte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.539,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Duncan MacGregor Whyte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Beach at Perth im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 12.200,00 (€ 11.071,79).
