Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Guide to Life: Trip in the Suburbs by Duan Jianyu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 60,409.99). Admittedly, works by Duan Jianyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sister No.14 (Diptych) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,000,000.00 (€ 455,316.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Guide to Life: Trip in the Suburbs von Duan Jianyu im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 60.409,99) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Duan Jianyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sister No.14 (Diptych) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.000.000,00 (€ 455.316,49).
