Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Sharp, Sharp, Smart No. 2 by Duan Jianyu was auctioned at POLY in Hong Kong in July last year. The auction ended at the price of HKD 1,800,000.00 (€ 224,603.02), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Duan Jianyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sister No.14 (Diptych), which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 4,000,000.00 (€ 455,316.49).
