Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Dorothea Tanning was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 4,064.00 (€ 3,738.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Tanning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le mal oublié in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,440,000.00 (€ 1,341,906.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dorothea Tanning wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.064,00 (€ 3.738,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Tanning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le mal oublié im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.440.000,00 (€ 1.341.906,63).
