Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dorothea Rockburne could be acquired at Phillips in an online auction in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions Contemporary: Online Auction auction, the work Touchstone changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 321.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Rockburne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black and White in November last year with an auction result of USD 119,700.00 (€ 115,954.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Rockburne konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Editions Contemporary: Online Auction wechselte die Arbeit Touchstone für USD 375,00 (€ 321,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Rockburne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black and White im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.700,00 (€ 115.954,66).
