Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reign Man Cometh by Dondi was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,095.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dondi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hammers in Hell in November last year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 219,703.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reign Man Cometh von Dondi wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.095,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dondi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hammers in Hell im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 219.703,57).
