Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Cobalt) by Donald Moffett for USD 3,900.00 (€ 2,947.85). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Moffett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gold / Passage in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 87,633.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Cobalt) von Donald Moffett für USD 3.900,00 (€ 2.947,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Moffett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gold / Passage im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 87.633,20).
