Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Abstract Composition by Donald Hamilton Fraser. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,761.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Donald Hamilton Fraser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape, Sea And Wind in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,098.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract Composition von Donald Hamilton Fraser zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.761,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Donald Hamilton Fraser auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape, Sea And Wind im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.098,78).
