Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Trader sold for AUD 25,200.00 (€ 15,366.39) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 336,000.00 (€ 206,600.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Donald Stuart Leslie Friend erzielte im November 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Australian Trader für AUD 25.200,00 (€ 15.366,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Stuart Leslie Friend erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 336.000,00 (€ 206.600,16).
