Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Island Youth by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The price achieved of AUD 19,200.00 (€ 10,864.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 18,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Stuart Leslie Friend achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ayam2 Kesayangan: 1 A Miscellanea 1968-1978 in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 336,000.00 (€ 206,600.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Island Youth von Donald Stuart Leslie Friend wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 19.200,00 (€ 10.864,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 18.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden.
