Auction result well in line with expectations
The work First-Nighters' Intermission (McCulloch 44) by Don Freeman was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,379.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Don Freeman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dance Rehersal in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,740.12).
