The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,290,000.00 (€ 7,338,523.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Doménikos Theotokópoulos have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2013 the work Saint Dominic In Prayer was auctioned for GBP 9,154,500.00 (€ 10,460,611.84).
