Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Doménikos Theotokópoulos achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in June 2015. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Saint Maurice sold for USD 1,085,000.00 (€ 972,745.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Doménikos Theotokópoulos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Dominic In Prayer in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 9,154,500.00 (€ 10,460,611.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Doménikos Theotokópoulos erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Saint Maurice für USD 1.085.000,00 (€ 972.745,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Doménikos Theotokópoulos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Dominic In Prayer im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.154.500,00 (€ 10.460.611,84).
