The price achieved of USD 3,660,000.00 (€ 3,496,035.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doménikos Theotokópoulos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Dominic In Prayer, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 9,154,500.00 (€ 10,460,611.84).
