Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A porcelain plate and tureen, glass decanter, leeks, onions and a lemon, on a table by Denys George Wells was sold in the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 890.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Denys George Wells achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nursery Tea in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,367.08).
