Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Still life with lemon; and Still life with oriental figure and ornaments by Denys George Wells. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 656.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Denys George Wells achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nursery Tea in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,367.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with lemon; and Still life with oriental figure and ornaments von Denys George Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 656,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Denys George Wells erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nursery Tea im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.367,08).
