Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Florence (Stained Walls) by Dennis Hopper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,765.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dennis Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Andy Warhol (With Flower), 1963/2006 in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 158,724.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Florence (Stained Walls) von Dennis Hopper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.765,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dennis Hopper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Andy Warhol (With Flower), 1963/2006 im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 158.724,06).
