Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thrust Ii by Denis Mitchell was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 26,725.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Denis Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Botallack, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,492.63).

Die Arbeit Thrust Ii von Denis Mitchell kam im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 26.725,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Denis Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Botallack beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.492,63) versteigert wurde.
