Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Deborah Butterfield achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Hibiscus sold for USD 200,000.00 (€ 170,314.23) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Deborah Butterfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Setsuko, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 468,500.00 (€ 442,900.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Deborah Butterfield erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Hibiscus für USD 200.000,00 (€ 170.314,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Deborah Butterfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Setsuko beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 468.500,00 (€ 442.900,36) versteigert wurde.
