Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Davis Cone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Martin: Talladega sold for USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,860.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Davis Cone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Radio City, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 206,250.00 (€ 195,275.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Davis Cone erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Martin: Talladega für USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.860,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Davis Cone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Radio City beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 206.250,00 (€ 195.275,52) versteigert wurde.
