Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Wynne could be acquired at Bonhams in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait Bust Of Lady Oppenheimer 32Cm (12 5/8In) High (Excluding Base); 48.5Cm (19 1/8In) High (Including Base) changed hands for GBP 637.50 (€ 725.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wynne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boy with a Dolphin in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 353,000.00 (€ 413,681.16).
