Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Color Study for CRIA #13 by David Reed was sold in the First Open | Online auction at Christies in New York in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,892.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Reed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work #439 in March this year with an auction result of GBP 67,310.00 (€ 76,578.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Color Study for CRIA #13 von David Reed wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion First Open | Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.892,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Reed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit #439 im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 67.310,00 (€ 76.578,13).
