Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Reed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2020. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work #99 sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,464.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Reed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work #439, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 67,310.00 (€ 76,578.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Reed erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit #99 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.464,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Reed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit #439 beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 67.310,00 (€ 76.578,13) versteigert wurde.
