Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Alexander Keith of Dunnottar and Ravelstoun (1705-1792), half-length, in a brown waistcoat and beige coat by David Martin for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,347.94). This price was achieved in the auction The Country House Sale - Property of the 14th Earl of Kintore & The Collection of the Late Bernard Lyons, C.B.E. at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of James, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun (1741-1817), three-quarter-length, in a cream suit, seated at a desk reading; and Portrait of his wife, Lady Elizabeth Carnegie, Countess of Hopetoun (d. 1793), three-quarter-length, in a blue dress, seated wit in October 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,131.4
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Alexander Keith of Dunnottar and Ravelstoun (1705-1792), half-length, in a brown waistcoat and beige coat von David Martin für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.347,94) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of James, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun (1741-1817), three-quarter-length, in a cream suit, seated at a desk reading; and Portrait of his wife, Lady Elizabeth Carnegie, Countess of Hopetoun (d. 1793), three-quarter-length, in a blue dress, seated wit im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebn
