Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Divine States (Place Fell) by David Whittaker was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,637.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Whittaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Divine States (Place Fell) von David Whittaker kam im Dezember 2019 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.637,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Whittaker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61) versteigert wurde.
