Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Johnson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Two Centuries: American Art auction, the work Study of Tivoli changed hands for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,453.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Windsor, Hudson River in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 584,357.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Johnson konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Two Centuries: American Art wechselte die Arbeit Study of Tivoli für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.453,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View From New Windsor, Hudson River im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 584.357,81).
