Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Morning, Lake George 18 1/8 x 26 1/8 in. (46 x 66.4 cm.) by David Johnson. The price achieved of USD 12,112.50 (€ 11,287.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Windsor, Hudson River in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 584,357.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morning, Lake George 18 1/8 x 26 1/8 in. (46 x 66.4 cm.) von David Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.112,50 (€ 11.287,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View From New Windsor, Hudson River im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 584.357,81).
