Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Mountain Lake by David Johnson was sold in the 19th Century American Art auction at Christies in New York in January last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,169.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Windsor, Hudson River in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 584,357.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Mountain Lake von David Johnson wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.169,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View From New Windsor, Hudson River im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 584.357,81).
