This artwork by David Johnson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the American Art auction, the work A Study At Tamworth, N.H. sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Windsor, Hudson River in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 584,357.81).
