Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Art Student by David Altmejd. The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,870.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Altmejd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The New North in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 269,007.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Art Student von David Altmejd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 40.870,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Altmejd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The New North im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 269.007,22).
