Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by David Altmejd. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,991.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Altmejd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New North in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 269,007.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von David Altmejd zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 13.991,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Altmejd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New North im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 269.007,22).
