Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Colette de Reiset, Baronne de Beurnonville (1805-1833), standing in a landscape, facing right in lace-bordered white dress with orange-pink sash, pink roses and foliage in her centre-parted curled and upswept brown hair by Daniel Saint was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,243.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Daniel Saint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Josephine, Empress Of The French (1763-1814), Circa 1805 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33).
