Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU AND SILVER, which included the work A young lady in white dress with frilled lace collar and blue and white checked sash, upswept curling hair by Daniel Saint. The price achieved of GBP 480.00 (€ 704.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Saint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Josephine, Empress Of The French (1763-1814), Circa 1805 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33).
