In the Important Gold Boxes and Portrait Miniatures auction, the work A Young Lady, In White Dress With Gauze Attached To Her Short Puff Sleeves, Blue And White Checked Sash, Pale Blue Embroidered Cashmere Stole Draped Over Her Shoulders, Her Fair Hair Curled And Upswept In A Plait sold for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,771.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Daniel Saint - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Josephine, Empress Of The French (1763-1814), Circa 1805, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33).
