Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures including works from the, which included the work A lady, full face in lace-bordered white dress, fur-bordered black coat, lace-bordered cream cap tied with ribbon by Daniel Saint. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,495.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Saint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Josephine, Empress Of The French (1763-1814), Circa 1805 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33).
