Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coastal scenery, California by Dana Bartlett was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 10,000.00 (€ 1,341.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dana Bartlett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By the Sea in June 2002 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 78,809.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coastal scenery, California von Dana Bartlett im August diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 10.000,00 (€ 1.341,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dana Bartlett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit By the Sea im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 78.809,86).
