In November this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction California Art, which included the work By Morro Bay by Dana Bartlett. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,960.00 (€ 8,214.15), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Dana Bartlett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the Sea in June 2002 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 78,809.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit By Morro Bay von Dana Bartlett zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.960,00 (€ 8.214,15) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dana Bartlett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By the Sea im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 78.809,86).
