Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, 1992 by Dan Walsh was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,066.60). Admittedly, works by Dan Walsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Diptych II in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,149.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, 1992 von Dan Walsh im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.066,60) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dan Walsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Diptych II im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.149,56).
