Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Unknown by Damrong Wong-Uparaj. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,910.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damrong Wong-Uparaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Damrong Wong-Uparaj zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.910,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damrong Wong-Uparaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96).
