Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract by Damrong Wong-Uparaj was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. It changed hands for a price of HKD 237,500.00 (€ 26,806.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damrong Wong-Uparaj - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962, which sold at auction in March 2019 for HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract von Damrong Wong-Uparaj kam im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 237.500,00 (€ 26.806,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Damrong Wong-Uparaj mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 beobachtet, die im März 2019 für HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96) versteigert wurde.
