This artwork by Damrong Wong-Uparaj achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Going Home sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 95,597.69) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Damrong Wong-Uparaj; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 sold at auction in March 2019 with the realized price of HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Damrong Wong-Uparaj erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Going Home für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 95.597,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Damrong Wong-Uparaj; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 im März 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96).
