Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Form on the Wall by Damrong Wong-Uparaj was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 260,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,894.91). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damrong Wong-Uparaj - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962, which sold at auction in March 2019 for HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Form on the Wall von Damrong Wong-Uparaj wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 260.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.894,91) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Damrong Wong-Uparaj mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 beobachtet, die im März 2019 für HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96) versteigert wurde.
