Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction A Special Selection of Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Homage to Mondrian I ; & Homage to Mondrian II by Damrong Wong-Uparaj. The price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,147.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damrong Wong-Uparaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion A Special Selection of Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Homage to Mondrian I ; & Homage to Mondrian II von Damrong Wong-Uparaj zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.147,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damrong Wong-Uparaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96).
